math question.. help?
A nurse is reviewing the daily intake and output(I&O) of a patient consuming a clear diet. The drainage bag denotes a total of 1000 mL for the past 24 hours. The total intake is: 2 cups of coffee, 1 16-oz serving of clear soup, 1 pint of water consumed throughout the day. How much is the deficit in milliliters?
THE ANSWER IS 440.. how do you get that?
Well you would convert the 2 cups of coffee into however many mL that is, the 16 oz serving of soup into mL and the 1 pint into mL, add them up, and subtract 1000 from it. I would assume it to be 440 mL since you said that is what the answer is.
You can use google to do unit conversions. i.e type in 2 cups to mL and it will return how many mL it is.
